Bliss
Bliss was founded in 1996 by Marcia Kilgore, a celebrity esthetician who opened the original Bliss Spa in New York's SoHo neighborhood. The spa became a celebrity hotspot, and Kilgore translated her most popular spa treatments into at-home products. The brand was known for its playful, tongue-in-cheek naming and spa-luxury positioning. LVMH acquired Bliss in 1999, and the brand later changed hands multiple times. In 2018, Bliss relaunched as a clean, affordable skincare brand available at Target, dramatically shifting from its luxury spa origins to mass-market accessibility. The reformulated range features vegan, cruelty-free products priced under $25.
